when i do a show statement on select to see already existing data , i get a 21-AUG-1999 date format and when i try to insert the same back in or a diffrent date with the same format it erros out saying month should be between 1 or 12 or day should be between 1 and last day of month,,, i think its not a error in inserting its got to do with format ,, i tried hard coding too as for our req we do not need to worry if the date reflects any particular sysdate it can be any as long as we can get the data in on any hard coded date format only if i can figure out what that could be thanks much
