SQR 4.3.4 w/Oracle 8.0.4 on Solaris 2.6

I have tried to upgrade SQR to 4.3.4 on Solaris 2.6. I get occasional errors such as this:

Sql-status: -1461.000000
Sql-Error: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column

Anyone else encountered this? How did you fix it? Any help greatly appreciated.
