From the PS web page describing certification:

"Do you qualify for certification? The certification program and training opportunities are open to all PeopleSoft Global Consulting Partners and Alliance Consulting Partner organizations. All partners must pass through the certification process to maintain their standing as PeopleSoft Partners.

Consultants can achieve certification by attending PeopleSoft University training programs and completing associated tests. Experienced consultants can bypass training and, upon successful completion of the product line certification test, receive the right to market their skills."

Ludicrous. If only the employees of designated companies are eligible to earn the cert, I see a lot of junior employees getting their ticket, then resigning to compete with us hard-core unemployables in the independant market. Ought to generate a lot of turnover, unless they inserted a clause that the cert is only valid while you're an employee. Think the average client is smart enough to recognize that as branding, rather than certification?

Anyway, I already have the right to market my skills. Ain't capitalism cool?
