This concerns a technical issue of how the Record DDL is used in the Css/Hrizon application for Charter Clients. Incidently Css/Hrizon uses the same general architecture as PeopleSoft
Platform: Oracle 8.0.5 on sun 5.6 Unix Server
Application: Windows NT
Our DBA has informed us that our default Percent Increase is 50 % and is not good for our system when we want to bring over new tables from our test environment to production. This causes fragmentation and performance problems.
We would like to know how we can override this thur the record editor (see ddl screen print below). We tried to override the DDL Model defaults in the record editor but it caused a problem in our test environment. We don't want to have to save a sql from the record editor and put it in a sql script because we don't want to have the database out of sync with respect to the record editor. We want to perform the override of the % increase within the record editor. Please advise us as to what we should do. I have checked the knowledge base and don't see anything that pertains to us.
Is it a safe work around to save the record to a sql script and carefully add the percent increase and run it from Oracle's sqlplus? It is a bad alternative as we would need to maintain the sql script if we can't do it from the record editor. seems like dual maintenance.
