This position will be responsible for the technical infrastructure, application support, and application development of the PeopleSoft applications. The role resides within IS and will be responsible for working with multiple business and IS areas.
In addition, this position analyzes end-user-computing requirements of internal clients in the mainframe and PC environments. Works with client management and staff to identify business needs. Reviews existing manual and automated procedures. Recommends automated and manual solutions to address business needs. As needed, participates in development of custom-developed PC or mainframe applications. Assists in training clients in the use of PC or mainframe application development tools.
Understands general business goals, and proactively identifies opportunities to apply technology in pursuit of these goals. Demonstrates a practical understanding of how technology is evaluated, cost-justified, and implemented in a business environment. Assists management in determining tactical and strategic directions in the use of technology.
Specific Skills
- Experience deploying, administering, and/or developing a PeopleSoft application; experience with PeopleCode, SQR, and Crystal a definite plus.
- Web based and/or Client Server infrastructure support experience needed (e.g., Unix, Oracle, NT)
- Must have experience with App Server, Process Scheduler
- PC application deployment/installation experience.
- Development experience required (Java, Weblogic, ASP, VB, XLM)
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- PC hardware configuration experience.
- Operating systems experience (PC-MS-DOS, mainframe-OS/MVS, Windows, OS/2).
- PC application software experience (Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, Crystal Reports, Access).
