Application Server is down

We are in the process of upgrading from HR 7.02 to HR 8.0 SP1.
We have been able to get in to our new 8.0 demo database with IE5 without any problem until now.

Today when we try to connect we get a message that the App server is down, but it appears to be up and running fine. I have stopped and restarted the App Server as well as rebooting the machine but I still get this message.

Has anyone encountered this problem?
