AMALLOC job

hi, can somebody explain what AMALLOC job does? What it is used for?

Run the Asset Allocation application engine process to create allocation entries in the DIST_LN talbe and mark
the original depreciation entries with an “I”.
Based on the allocation setup it will look at the following tables
PS_ALLOC_BASIS
PS_ALLOC_BASIS_DST
PS_ALLOC_BASIS_SRC
PS_ALLOC_DEFN
PS_ALLOC_DEFN_DTL
PS_ALLOC_DIST_TMP
and creates entries in PS_DIST_LN
the original depreciation entries with an “I”.
